MDS Foundation Mission of Mercy

Save the Date!

The MDS Foundation is pleased to announce that we’re sponsoring a Mission of Mercy (MOM) no-cost dental clinic for adults:

Saturday, November 15, 2025
DCU Center, Worcester, Massachusetts

In fulfilling the Foundation’s mission of increasing access to care, the clinic will provide complimentary dental care to the uninsured, underinsured, and anyone who cannot access care. However, we need your help in two ways—by donating and volunteering.

Volunteer

If you’re interested in volunteering, you and your staff can sign up as clinical volunteers. Additionally, you can also involve your friends, family, and support staff by asking them to volunteer for non-clinical roles. The goal is to serve 300 patients in one day, so all helping hands are welcome!

Did you know you can earn pro bono service CE credits for volunteering? If you haven’t already fulfilled that requirement for this licensure cycle, you can earn one credit for every volunteer hour.

  • Dentists can earn a maximum of five pro bono service credits per licensure cycle.
  • Hygienists can earn a maximum of three pro bono service credits per licensure cycle.
  • Dental assistants can earn a maximum of two pro bono service credits per licensure cycle.

The volunteer shifts include (you can volunteer for more than one shift):

  • Friday, November 14, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, set up
  • Saturday, November 15, 6:00 am – 12:00 pm, dental clinic
  • Saturday, November 15, 11:00 am – 4:00 pm, dental clinic
  • Saturday, November 15, 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm, clinic takedown

Donate

We are still collecting donations for the upcoming MDS Mission of Mercy (MOM) and other Foundation initiatives. If you haven’t already done so, please donate today!

Alternatively, if you know someone interested in becoming a Mission of Mercy sponsor, please contact me , Dr. Janis Moriarty, chair of the MDS Foundation.

Challenge accepted and accomplished!
The Massachusetts Dental Society Foundation’s Martin’s Mission Challenge was a huge success! The challenge raised over $80,000 in donations for the Mission of Mercy and other initiatives. Thank you to all who generously donated and to Dr. Raymond Martin and Dr. David Lustbader for combining to donate $30,000 in matching gifts.
