Increasing Access to Care
The MDS Foundation works to increase access to care for Massachusetts residents and raise awareness about oral health topics. The Foundation is the charitable arm of the Massachusetts Dental Society and is a 501(c)(3) organization. All donations made to the Foundation are tax-deductible.
MDS Foundation Mission of Mercy
SAVE THE DATE! On November 15, 2025, the MDS Foundation will hold its inaugural Mission of Mercy. This event, at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA, will provide oral health care to underserved and underinsured adults.
New Board Chair
The Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS) welcomes Janis Moriarty, DMD, as the new chair of the MDS Foundation Board of Directors. Dr. Moriarty takes over from former Foundation Chair Robert Lewando, DMD, who served in this role from 2015-2024.
Foundation Awards 2025 Grants
The MDS Foundation recently awarded over $100,000 in grants. The annual Access to Care grants support programs that provide increased access to oral health care and education to underserved communities across Massachusetts.
Foundation Targeted Grants
The MDS Foundation offers $2,000 Targeted Grants on a rotating basis throughout the year. Targeted Grants provide funding to organizations or programs that want to increase access to dental care on a smaller scale.
