Pine Street Inn
444 Harrison Ave, Boston, MA 02118
We are looking for five volunteers to perform a variety of tasks, including peeling and chopping vegetables, seasoning and portioning meats, preparing and packaging meals, and cleaning as necessary. A tour of the shelter will be offered at the end of the shift.
The Pine Street Inn partners with homeless individuals to help them move from the streets and shelter to a home, and assists formerly homeless individuals in retaining housing. They are working to end homelessness in Greater Boston.

Volunteer tasks include high-need/critical projects like our Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), a federal program designed to help low-income seniors access healthy food, Brown Bag boxes for seniors, and additional food sorting projects. Note: Closed-toe shoes are required.

***PARKING***:
GBFB provides parking on a first-come basis when visiting 70 South Bay Avenue. Our secure parking lot is located on the corner of Topeka and South Bay. Heading down Topeka, when arriving at South Bay Avenue, turn LEFT, and the lot entrance is halfway down the block. There is a gate that will rise upon entry. We provide tokens for exit after the visit. Please do not park in the clinic parking lot (to the right) as you will be towed. Our lot closes at 4:30 pm. Any remaining cars may be towed at the owner’s expense.

Volunteers worked at the Cradles to Crayons Giving Factory to quality-check, sort, package, and prepare donations for children through the organization’s service partners.
Special Olympics Massachusetts—June 8, 2025
Volunteers assisted at the start and finish lines, distributed awards, supported athletes, measured field events, and performed other tasks as needed. Be part of the movement that promotes acceptance and inclusion through the power of sport!
Greater Boston Food Bank—May 10, 2025
MDS Cares volunteers packed Family Meal Boxes and assisted with food sorting projects, including fresh bread, produce, and retail meat, at the Greater Boston Food Bank.
Broadmoor Sanctuary—April 5, 2025
MDS member volunteers performed trail maintenance or habitat restoration at the Sanctuary.
Women’s Lunch Place—March 15, 2025
MDS Cares volunteers assisted kitchen staff with food preparation, serving meals, and clean-up for the Women’s Lunch Place lunch program.
HOPE Framingham Food Bank—February 22, 2025
MDS Cares volunteers helped set up and clean up, restock tables as food is taken, escort families through the line, bag groceries, and bring groceries to cars when needed.
